This group represents the continued efforts of our parent group the 2nd Company GJR100; we are a well respected unit that has set an example in the re-enacting community for over 20 years. Our goal is to represent the correct visual impression of a typical WWII German Gebirgsjäger. Our authenticity standards are the highest in the hobby and we strive to maintain a high degree of historical accuracy in all our efforts down to the smallest detail. In the past we have been reffered to as the "museumjagers," which refers to our museum quality displays. We encourage our members to advance their knowledge of the war in general and of the struggles and stories of the common soldier.

For us re-enacting is not a game and its not about winning. Re-enacting is an experience. There is no tangable goal of any consequence; simply the enjoyment each member feels when amongst friends with similar interests. Any game-like aspects are present only to help keep events moving.

Unlike many other reenactment units who represent a single zug or maybe Kompanie our members are free to persue impressions from any part of the 5th Gebirgsjäger division. We represent an interesting formation in the german army called a Kampfgruppe or battle group; In the case of the 5th in Italy when their divisional strength was reduced to little more than a regiment they were given the title Sperrguppe Schrank. Schrank being the commander of the division at the time. We selected this formation because we wanted our members, new and old, to know they can pursue such impressions if it interests them enough to put in the time and research to do it right and that it will have a place and a purpose within our group. This organization allows our members to pursue one or more various impressions for example a regular rifleman in the 1 kompanie GJR100 or maybe if a member wants to restore an original motorcycle he can be a kradfahrer from the 3 schwadron Aufklärungs Abt. 95 and we can all still work together at events as a cohesive unit. For more impressions please review the unit list to the right of the page. We wanted a unit structure that encourages members to take on projects, find an impression in the hobby that really interests them and we want to ensure that their efforts are put to use at events.

Our command style is based entirely on the motivation of our members to do what they want to do and that they are willing to do the reseach aswell. We don't tell our members what to do but what we as a group could use, need or what needs to be done for an event and then it is left to interested, willing members to decide how best to do it and learn from their experiences. Part of the unit commands job is to facilitate cooperation within our own unit and with other quality units as well as ensure our members are adhearing to our authenticity standards, preserving the experience for all those involved.

We are like minded individuals and reenacting is an opportunity for us to share our knowledge, share a few laughs, keep the memory of the men who severed alive, and create a few memories of our own.
